Every year, across the nation National
Cancer Survivors Day (NCSD) is observed as a Celebration of
Life for cancer survivors, their family members and friends.
Louisville's Celebration of Life
has been organized by WE SURVIVE, Inc., a non-profit organization
which brings hope and support to those diagnosed with cancer.
Last years event was attended by over 400 participants, free of charge, at University of Louisville's Shelby Camps on Sunday, June 6th. The event was a tremendous success thanks to our many supporters: The Advertising Club of Louisville, SHE 98.9 FM, Humana, The Cubero Group, Outdoor Systems, Glamour Shots, The Dodii Foundation and more than 50 other contributing companies.
WE SURVIVE, INC. is organizing this
years event to be held on Sunday, June 1, 2003. Some groups
have already committed their support including the Advertising
Club of Louisville, which will once again produce our promotional
material. Representatives from the Kentucky Cabinet for Health
Services have also agreed to lend their support along with
Glamour Shots, Kentucky Cancer Program, The University of
Louisville and others. Local dignitaries in attendance will
be Dr. Stan Frager, a 25 year cancer survivor and Gary Roedemeier,
WHAS 11 newscaster, serving as this years NCSD 2000 Honorary
Chair.
I believe National Cancer Survivors Day is wonderful experience. Please join us for the thirteenth annual NCSD and help us make NCSD 2000 an even more memorable event for cancer survivors as we come together once again in the Celebration of Life...
